The 55th Annual Lodi Mixed Bonspiel will be held St. Patrick’s Day weekend at the Lodi Curling Club. Dates are March 16-18, 2012, with entries due on March 2, 2012. Entry fee is $220/team and includes: continental breakfast, cocktail party and banquet on Saturday evening and food, beer and soda throughout the spiel.

The Lodi Curling Club has announced some important dates for the upcoming curling season. These dates will also be added to the calendar. Check back soon for more updates and news.

Monday, Nov. 28th – Round Robin league play begins.
January 6th –Jan. 8th – Men’s Bonspiel (first draw at 3pm)
Jan. 27 – Sun., 29th – Curl for Cancer Bonspiel (cancelled)
March 16-18 – Mixed Bonspiel (need to confirm start time)
March 28 – April 1 – Alumni Bonspiel (may actually begin on Wed., 3/28 TBD)

Curl To End Cancer

The main intent is to raise money with the proceeds going to various cancer foundations. We will do this by holding a raffle of 6 prize packages donated by 6 curling families that have lost family members to cancer. The teams for the spiel are to be composed of two inexperienced and two experienced curlers. Each game will be 4 ends, 3 game guarantee, $100.00/team entry fee, includes beverages and food.

Wednesday Night Curling Announced

The Wednesday Night League will be an open league. The club will have open ice on every Wednesday the month of Dec. starting at 6:00 for people to come and practice or for mini games (we will have experienced curlers available to assist). This is the first year for our Wed. night “open league” with the idea of recruiting new and/or inexperienced/experienced curlers to establish teams. We will start the official league the first Wed. of Jan. The players fee will be $100.00/person for the Wed. league as it will be a short season. We hope next season our Wed. night league will be well established and start the last week of Nov. or the first week of December.
